In April 2013, Jonalyn Fincher was invited to speak at You Lost Me.Live! in Colorado Springs. The “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy in the church starts with things that are difficult to talk about with millennials, including sexuality and the gender war. But instead of fighting these battles with shame, Jonalyn suggests they be overcome with love. Rather than engaging and following culture, the church can create culture. How can we be creative about using this power of culture-changing love? Jonalyn casts vision for churches to change the way they lead culture.

In April 2013, Jonalyn Fincher was invited to speak at the Bold Boundaries conference in Chicago on the topic of modesty. What do words like “modesty” and “sexy” actually mean? Jonalyn explains concepts such as the modesty police and codependent modesty. By unwrapping stories of shame we carry around, Jonalyn suggests how the church’s modesty narrative keeps both men and women from being fully human. She challenges us to appreciate beauty in others and understand how modesty can free us and not be a corset.
